Your words have been stout against me, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee?

In the U.S., the rapid increase of blatant evilness, the rejection of God, and the twisting of Scripture to condone wickedness are heavy realities to observe and contemplate. Add to these things the host of churches who compromise the truth of the gospel for the sake of not offending. It cannot be denied that the United States, a country that had its foundation in Christian principles, is beginning to look no different than countries who have long since rejected Christianity, or who had never embraced Christianity.
While we rightfully mourn these realities, what can we do? Are there actions to take? Yes! Pray, confess, read God’s word (Trust and obey, for there’s no other way….). In both the Old and New Testaments, we see God’s people encouraged and exhorted to live the antithesis, to follow and obey God’s ways, not man’s ways. The Word of God does not change with the changing times. The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalm 12:6. Right is always right, and wrong is always wrong. The Bible does not call good evil, nor does it call evil good. There is only one way to walk, and that is in God’s way, no matter what the present evil age says.
Families, as we guide our children, and as we contemplate our own walk, we must ask God to show us where we ourselves have compromised, where we are lukewarm, where our prayer life is weak, where we fear man and not God, and then ask Him to conform us to the image of His Son. When we are tempted to be overwhelmed by what is happening in our country and around the world, we must encourage each other with God’s truth, pray for each other, be in the Word, and pray for a revival in our own hearts.
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:13-16
