Speech:This two-semester class will help you to utilize the written and spoken tools of the English language with the goal of helping you communicate.  One way we will do this is work on writing clear sentences with correct punctuation. In order to be successful in this class, students should come to class prepared to interact with one another. This is a hands-on class and will require a teachable spirit. Students must be willing to get up front and talk—sometimes giving a prepared speech, sometimes an impromptu speech. Students will need to keep a loose-leaf notebook for the class—every handout must be displayed in this notebook, along with quizzes, tests, and speeches. This notebook will be graded at the end of class.
